When do you call to make your 1st OB appt?

I know I will obv wait until after hb is heard, but they (RE) will keep me 7-10 days later to do 1 final scan before they release me. Should I call for OB appt after I hear the HB or after they officially release me?

My RE told me when I would be released so I made my appointment 2 weeks after that. I think it depends on your OB. My RE released me at 8 weeks and I was thinking my OB wouldn't want to see me till 12 but they actually wanted me to come in for my preliminary stuff sooner so I was seen at 10 weeks.

I've heard a wide range of when OBs will see you. Mine had me make my 1st appt for 9w. When I made the appt, I was still with my RE. My RE releases patients at 8weeks. If you know which OB you want to use, it doesn't hurt to go ahead an call to see what their policies are. Good luck!

I will be released around 8 weeks as well. I go in Fri for h/b appt, then about 10 days later, which will put me at 8 weeks. I'll call my OB Fri after my appt to see what their policy is. I actually want to make 2 appts (different OB offices) because my original OB left my current practice recently =(

My RE had me call for an appointment after the heartbeats were confirmed at 6w. My OB likes to see patients between 8-10 weeks and I was discharged from the RE at 8w.

My RE told me after my 6 week appointment to go ahead and make it for after my 9 week appointment with them.  So I graduated from the RE at 9 weeks and saw the OB at 10.

My RE saw me for an u/s at 6w, 7w, 8 w & 9w. She told me at my 8w appt that she would release me after my next appt and to call to schedule my first OB appt for anytime after 9 weeks.  My OB scheduled me at 10 weeks.

at my RE appt at 8w5d he told me to call my OB and schedule my NT scan.  My RE didnt release me until 10w5d.

My RE had me call after my second beta. I am going in this Friday even though I still have not graduated. They wont be doing their own u/s until Aug 31st. It is a one hour intake appointment on Friday.

I called after my last appointment with RE and let my OB know how far I am and that we did IVF. I have an appt next week.

Typically my re releases you at 8w and told me to make an ob apt for 9-10 weeks. I got in for 9 weeks and my nt scan with the mfm is at 11w. I called when I was 7 weeks and saw and heard the hb. A lot of places have waiting lists or aren't even accepting new patients so I wanted to get the dates I wanted. Worse case its pretty easy to cancel an appointment. I will see if I am released tomorrow!

I wasn't released until 13 weeks or so and OB was insistent I come like the next day.

Once we saw the HB's I called the OB and they saw me at 10 weeks I believe. :-)

RE released me at 8w and I went to the OB at 10w. No one at either office have me any guidelines, so after hearing the hb at 6w, I called the OB to schedule for 10w.
