    Agree with PP. Cute name.... Horrible spelling. And I'm not even a stickler on spelling!

    I'm embarrassed to say this, but in high school I wanted to name my daughter Jorja because I saw it on CSI (it's one of the actress' names). Thankfully, I grew out of that. Georgia is much prettier!

    BTN lists it as a valid variant of Georgia.  I always assumed it was the Spanish way to spell it (since the male version of George is spelled Jorge) but BTN says its an English variant.

    At first glance, I actually thought this was a feminine version of the Mexican name, Jorge.  I thought "whore-ha" ?  whoa.
