poll on the baby bump app

Usually I hate posts that bash on other women on here for their silly posts.

However, on the bump app a woman made a poll asking if its okay to have a shower and ask only for diapers or gift cards because they have everything else already. I instantly cringed because if they have everything already, why have a shower? 

Why not just throw a get together and not ask for anything? Is it so hard for pregnant women and their SO's to throw a party without wanting gifts now-a-days?

Okay, I am done venting. Am I wrong to think this?

I agree that it certainly sounds like they don't "need" a shower.  Obviously it is OK to have one (if someone else is hosting) even for a 2nd baby as long as it is small.  If this is for a first baby a shower is OK but it is NEVER OK to tell guests what to spend their money on.  Even if people had a get together, didn't mention anything about gifts, they would still get gifts - most likely diapers or gift cards.
