I find the lack of information regarding homebirth options to be disheartening. My mama has been a midwife for 20 years, and at 26 weeks with my first, there is no other option than to have my baby in my own home.
It seems like this site doesn't have much information, and all the check lists are geared towards a woman having a hospital birth. I think this promotes hospital birth. Especially since the natural birth section is all about natural birth at the hospital.
Now it is possible I am just missing this information as I spend limited time online and would love if someone who knows more about the site could direct me there, but I would love to see a section devoted to homebirth.
Re: Disheartened
I'm pretty sure theBump as a site isn't going to have what you're looking for but the ladies on this board know this stuff and should be able to point you to some helpful places. I'm surprised your mom doesn't have good resources for you since she's a midwife. Possibly a dumb question, but have you asked her what she recommends?
Edit: Sorry, I personally am having a hospital birth. Otherwise I'd be more than willing to share anything I had!
There are a few in the natural birth forum that are planning homebirths. I am one of them. It is expected that most pregnancy, birth, and baby sites are geared towards hospital births because most of the population have hospital births. I know it is a shame that they don't provide a more diverse view on pregnancy and birth (and include homebirth). I have learned to live with that.

There are several of us who are choosing to birth at home. I agree there is not a lot of information out there, but neither are there really that many home births (statistically.) I agree it might be chosen more if there were more information available.
