Not sure how much of a bed tosser your daughter is, but for my daughter, we ended up putting one side of the twin bed against a wall and on the other end rolled up a down pillow (and taped it) and tucked it under the bedsheet. It seems to be just enough to keep her from rolling out and we haven't had a problem. Beats those huge ugly bedrails! But if your kid throws herself around at night, it might not do the trick.
We got these inflatable bed rails from One Step Ahead and love them! They are less obtrusive than the traditional rails and changing the sheets is a breeze! I also like they they are easy to travel with....so they went with us to the lake, for overnights at my parents house, etc. You get 2 rails for the price listed, which is usually cheaper than buying 2 of the traditional rails.
Personal Disclaimer: If you do get these rails though, do not use them with Jersey style sheets. We have jersey style sheets so the fitted sheet stretches and gives and the rails easily moved under the fitted sheet. However, once we used a regular cotton fitted sheet, the rails dont budge! Regular cotton sheets fit more snug.
We did something similar to pp with the pillow. In fact we just lay a pillow beside her and the edge of the bed.
But we have a safety 1st bedrail because we bedshare with DD2. It's very easy to use and secure. Although we also selected this because of it being mesh and wanting to minimise suffocation risk with a baby.
We have this one. It has worked great for the 3 weeks we've used it. It isn't as easy as it looks to hide them away but you are able to. It also is a little tricky to put together.
