My husband and I have been through a lot the past few years. We had 5 early miscarriages and then our sticky baby. Our son had a condition known as hydrops and unfortunately passed away to his heavenly home a few hours after birth at 30 weeks. I would like to try again -- hoping for the best. My doctor told me wait 4-5 months, however every where I read says to wait around a year. I don't know if in 4-5 months I will be ready, but does that seem like a decent amount of time to wait?
My precious angel Ryan Caleb passed away to his heavenly home a few short hours after birth due to hydrops 7.5.2012 @ 30 weeks.
Re: How long after c-section to get pregnant?
I am so sorry for your losses.
My OB was fine with me getting pregnant as soon after my c/s as we wanted to. I got pregnant around 8 months after my 1st c/s.
Best of luck to you.
(read it. you know you want to.)

I would say it's a case by case basis. I've never had a "waiting" period until after my 3rd c-section (I had 3 c-sections in 3 years). After my first 2, my OB cleared me to get PG when I wanted. After my 3rd, she did tell me to wait 1 year so that my body could rest since it was a lot of c-sections in a short amount of time.
Best wishes to you!
Sorry about your loss.
I think it depends on how you are healing and if you had any complications. With a normal c/s and recovery it's probably okay to wait about 6 months. I guess you could wait a year to be extra safe but it's probably not necessary.

If your doctor says it's 4-5 months for you, I would take that over advice you read on the internet. The recommendation will all depend on your age/health history/how your delivery went/etc. I would think if your doctor feels it's ok at 4 months and you feel ready you should try. If you're not ready physically/emotionally you can wait too.
So very sorry for your loss.
My OB told us to wait 6 months after Aidan passed. At 4 months she called to check on me and told me that all of my tests came back fine and that if we wanted to try then it would be okay. I O'd 2 weeks later and Lucas is 17m old.
Honestly in the grief stand point it was too soon. The pregnancy, of course, was very stressful because I always thought that my cord was going to fail again. Lucas was born 20 days after Aidan's birthday so it was very very tough emotionally. Physically I was fine during the pregnancy. I felt a little more of the RLP type discomfort due to scar tissue, but I had a healthy pregnancy and an easy RCS.
I am sorry for your loss.
If your doctor says it's safe then it should be fine. We plan to begin ttc in October of this year. The doctor seemd to think that was fine. I had an emergency c-section in early March.
I too am really sorry for your loss.
If it were me I'd wait that 4 months and make your own decision on when is best for you.
If you're hoping for a VBAC then there are a lot of doctors that insist on 1 year. If you're okay with another c/s then I wouldn't see why you would have to wait (especially with your doctors consent at 4 months).
DH and I have a hard time conceiving and are already trying for #2.
I'm so sorry for your losses.
As for how long my OB told us to wait was a year. As you can see in my ziggy we did not wait a year!
I wish you all the best!
