Slipped getting out of the shower...

and hurt something in my groin.  I don't know how to explain where the pain is - but it is HORRIBLE.  I got out of the shower to open the door for my little girl who was mad that the door got shut.  I somehow slipped on the tile and caught myself, but it feels like I pulled something.  I would almost say it was my sciatic nerve (because of where I feel the pain) but could slipping make a nerve flare up like that?  It's only on my right side, kinda where you would shave your bikini line between your legs.  I can barely walk and doing anything that requires my legs to move apart very far is excruciating.

Any suggestions besides Tylenol and a hot bath?

Re: Slipped getting out of the shower...

  • Ugh, I'm sorry you did that--but glad it wasn't worse!!  Sounds like something similar to what I did a few days ago when I walked in the house and slipped on the tile because my flip flops were wet from the rain.  It hurt really badly between my legs for about a day or so, then the pain was gone.......or maybe I just forgot about it in my "normal" aches and pains these days, hah!  Anyway, hope you feel better very soon!!

  • I don't have any advice but the same exact thing happened to me about a week ago! It hurt reallllly bad that night, especially turning over in bed, and the next day but then completely went away. Hope it feels better fast for you too.

  • It sounds like my SPD (symphysis pubis dysfunction).  Does it feel like you are going to split in half at the groin if you take a step?  I've had SPD since 20 weeks, which is abnormal, but it's common in 3ird tri.  The thing that helped most was a warm rice sock (yep, on your crotch) and visits to a chiropractor.

  • I don't know what it could be, but a hot bath sounds pretty good.

  • Sounds like a pulled groin muscle. I'd go with alternating heat and ice pads, and relaxing. :)

If it's any consolation, your siggy pic is adorable.
