red dry skin around babies waist

We've been cding off and on for the past week, but she's been eclusive since thursday night.  dd has developed red dry skin around her waist where her diapers sit. Has anybody else experienced this?  Thoughts? Possible detergent sensitivity?

If it is just where the diaper sits and not everywhere the diaper touches I wouldn't think it would be a detergent sensitivity. DD got a few dry patches that went away with some baby lotion. I'd try that first to see if it is just dry skin. GL!

I've been putting lotion on her, but I may not have given it enough time.  She has a few other dry spots as well on her stomach and back mostly.  I just seems a little worse at her waist band line.

You can try coconut oil!!! It's natural and super effective! If that does not work see doctor....ps. Coconut oil as diapers rash is fantastic...

Thanks!  I've been using that for her cradle cap as well!

I would also try either coconut oil or CJs butter...both are amazing and always clear up any issues my LO is having very quickly!

For us that meant they were on too tight, or were too small.
