Itchy rash on the back of the head

So, after complaining about DD's tantrums yesterday, this morning I noticed she was itching her head.  After digging under all her hair I found a rash.  From an online search it could be anything from eczema to ringworm (although I really don't think it's that shape).  I am going to take her to the Dr on Monday but was wondering if anyone else has experience with this or suggestions how to ease the itchiness.  Thank you!

C's head used to get BAD scaly patches.  I switched to Aveeno body wash and lotion and use hydrocortisone  cream on the patches (per pedi's suggestion).  It worked great and he hasn't had a flare up in awhile.

Thank you for the tips.  It's so hard to see under her hair- looks like I am going to have to be a lot more attentive.
