Questions about Sawyer

We're team green, have the girl name set, and now we're onto the boy name.  I really like Sawyer but is it "trendy"?  DS is Mason which we had set back when it was ranked 35 on the SS list and weren't planning on picking a trendy/super popular name.  When I had him, we knew it was popular at that point, but we were so set on it, it didn't matter.  That being said, I don't want that to happen twice. 

The other question is, is it weird to have a Mason and a Sawyer- being that they're both occupational names? 

Other names on *my* list (not sure DH would go for some of them) and the mn is set and will be Joseph-

Dylan

Ethan (I get tongue tied when I say Mason and Ethan, so unfortunately this one might get the boot even though I really like it)

Corbin- DH is iffy

Blaine (we have a 1 syllable last name so I'm not totally sold)

Isaac

I don't think it'll sky rocket like Mason. But I don't like Mason and Sawyer together. I like Isaac the best from your list.

I see Sawyer on this board a lot for little girls, but I have a never met a RL little girl named Saywer (it's hardly on the charts anyways). Sawyer screams boy to me, and it's not THAT popular #172. I think Mason and Sawyer sound good together despite the occupational meanings. 

I also like Corbin and Isaac. I don't like that Corbin and Mason both end with an 'n' sound though for some reason.

Dylan is a lot more popular for boys and is gaining popularity for girls, rising significantly every year. For that reason, I would never use it.

Blaine-have never liked this name. It's too plain sounding.

I love Sawyer but One Tree Hill ruined me ever using it. They used it to name a characters daughter and now I'm worried it will become too much of a girl name once a lot of the shows fans start having girls. (I personally know a few who will use the name..)

I like Sawyer and haven't seen anyone around here (upstate NY) with the name.

I'm biased to the name Sawyer :-)  DH and I both liked it immediately (which I still can't believe).  It goes well with our last name and neither of us had heard it before.  I work in daycare and had never come across it before.

yes it is trendy and I seem to hear it more on girls then boys now (seems to happen with the trendy, less masculine boy names) I would keep looking

Sawyer is definitely trendy. I noticed a surge once Lost began and now I'm even seeing announcements for girls with the name.

 

Dylan and Isaac are good with Mason

Don't go with Ethan it's been on the top 10 list since 2002 for boy names.  I love Dylan that was our second pick behind our final Dalton

i think Sawyer is a bit trendy... i love Isaac.  Maybe Isaac MN Ethan?
