Postpartum Depression

DS Hates Me :(

I'm sure he doesn't actually hate me but he definitely prefers DH since DD was born 3 weeks ago. I know it's my fault because of the d@mned PPD (actually PP OCD/anxiety). I went on Zoloft (50 mg) and feel a little better but I still snap at him and feel overwhelmed.

Is anyone else having trouble with their toddler? How do you keep from snapping at them when they misbehave and you are already feeling overwhelmed? I need a strategy because the "count to 10" thing doesn't work well for me since 2 yr olds need immediate feedback - especially when dumping their milk on the rug.

What do you do when your toddler makes you want to scream?

Oh god. I just know this is going to be me and my DD when the new baby makes his appearance :(  I have no advice, just warm thoughts for all of you.

I already feel this way and the new baby isn't even here yet. :( Sorry I have no advice.

  • Yes, I feel so guilty. I've gotten better at keeping my patience, but I hate that he sees me cry so much. He always asks, "Mommy, your tummy hurt again?" The patience started to come back with time. I would say around 6 weeks pp.

  • That's OK. I'll take commiseration in lieu of advice. :)

  • I feel like I have had this going on even before he was a toddler and just a baby crying, throwing fits, and not wanting to be put down. I had had time where I would cry or just scream on my pillow. I think, thanks to my bf, that I am getting a bit better at it. whenever i feel too overwhelmed, I just let my bf know and I leave to the living room or the bedroom, wherever is the farthest from my son and just try and calm down. I don't know if you have help right now at the house since you just had your baby. But hopefully when your hubby get's home just let him know to take care of your toddler. I hope this helps.=/ Wishing you luck
