One more question about Bram

How does it sound with Liam? Too close? We are pronouncing it Brahm, as that is the Irish pronunciation and the more commonly accepted pronunciation.

Re: One more question about Bram

  • I pronounce it the way it rhymes with Sam. Even if I pronounce it where it rhymes with prom, I still don't think it's too close to Liam.

  • Personally I think they are too similar - seems like you'd get tongue-tied saying their names together. FWIW, I love the name Liam but Bram makes me think of Bram Stoker (author of Dracula)... idk, the association just makes me a bit uncomfortable.

I wonder about being tongue tied. It's probably the deciding factor for the name.

I personally love Dracula. With that in mind I do believe Bram Stoker pronounced his name as to rhyming with Sam. We would use the pronunciation Brahm.

  • I don't think they're too close and I LOVE Bram (I would use it as a NN for Abram though)
