Short Term Disability

Good Afternoon Ladies,

I have been part of this blog since i found out i was pregnant, and this is now my first post/question. For those of you who have already had to deal with NJ's short term disability, once you have submitted your forms, how long did it take to receive your first check, and how did you file (mail or fax)? I am currently trying to figure out how much of a lapse in pay i may have. I am currently 7 months pregnant, with some complications so money is tight with the extra medical bills i am paying on a weekly basis even with health insurance. It has currently depleted our savings account so that is not an option either. I am still currently working full time, just not a full 40+ hours a week like i used too so i take a cut on that end of the pay as well. My husbands health insurance premiums have gone up so we also take a hit in that aspect. Any insight as well as suggestions are greatly appreciated. My sister in law had a baby in Pennsylvania 8 months ago and her employer took care of everything, unfortunately i do not have that option. Thank you so very much ahead of time for your help!
