About to make my first DC call...

Why is my heart about to beat out of my chest?! Did any of you experience this when you first started? It's not like this isn't something I want or need but I'm afraid to pick up the phone and call for fear of sounding like a blubbering idiot. The place I'm wanting to call is rated well, fully compliant with their inspections and looks pretty great overall from their website. I also have no idea where to go with the conversation if they'll actually take DD for only one day a week and it will fit in our budget. What do I say next, "Sign me up!"? I seriously can not imagine what this was like for you full-time working moms!

I actually just e-mailed a few to set up tours.  Then when I was there touring I went through my questions and the specifics.  I would call and tell them what you need and see if they can do that.  If they can I would go and tour and then if you like it sign up while there.

Yep. Exactly this. You are not going to say "sign me up" w/o seeing the place first.  So just ask what hours they do tours.  Don't tell them when you are comming and show up unannounced within those hours.

That part was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. I called and they do have a spot that would work and at a much better rate than I was imagining but I asked about scheduling a tour...I like the idea of showing up unannounced better. I didn't make an appointment though because I didn't know when DH would be available.

Oh, I know! I feel like this whole thing is making me a bit of nut-job and said that jokingly but then realized it may not come across that way. Just imagine a crazed, sleep-deprived, unshowered lady pulling her hair out, lol

Calm down, shower and step away from the ledge.  It will ALL work out. Trust me.  I never thought I could trust anyone with my baby but when you walk into the right place...you will know it instantly.  Don't stop looking until you get that feeling.
