Registering at Walmart?

Has anyone registered at Walmart before?  If so, good/bad/indifferent?  

We live in a small city, and both BBB and BRU are about an hour from here.  Not terrible to go register, and a lot of my family is closer to those stores than us.  The problem is providing an option for the people that are local (our options here would be a baby boutique, Target, Walmart, or Meijers, which is a midwestern equivalent of Walmart) and my BF's family that are in a much more rural area (Walmart would be the only option within 90 minutes).  I normally don't love shopping at Walmart, but am sort of at a loss for a better option.  I guess I could just assume that they'll buy stuff online and not have a local option (or assume that they'll get clothes locally), but I want to be inclusive of his family too.  Anyone have any thoughts?

I've never registered there...or heard any experiences. If Walmart is the best place for locals then I would register there, that way if they don't want to drive far or pay for shipping by buying online, they can. You can always register at two places, many may not even buy off the registery, so keep that in mind.

We registered at Wal-Mart & Target. No experience but the online part is easy enough.

I registered at Walmart for my first 4 years ago.  I had zero issue.

We registered at Walmart for our wedding and will register there again for the baby once we know the sex. I've had a problem with our local walmart not having a registry kiosk in the store (they looked at me like I was stupid and told me I would just need to print it off and bring it in) but that's from a particular local Walmart that I have alot of problems with. Walmart has a good return policy, and our wedding registry went smoothly.

We are just registering online with Amazon, because you can add anything, from any website to it! (Including walmart stuff!)

I am similarly registering at Amazon for this reason.  

Also, I figure that people can shop at a brick & mortar store, if they don't want to deal with online shopping, after they look at our Amazon registry for ideas on what we need.

I am in the same boat as you. My family lives in a rural area in the midwest and pretty much my only option is walmart or they would have to order online. And I know there are  lot of people who want to actually personally go into a store and pick out stuff. So I am going to suck it up even though I don't like Walmart an have a registry there as well as Target and Amazon.com.

I registered at Walmart for my dh's family. They only have a Walmart, all other stores are over an hour away. You can look up what they carry in stock at your own local walmart, and then add it to the list. That way, they can pull up items in the store. Many items are not carried in store (only online) so it helps a lot to have things in stock to choose from (for those who don't use a comp).

Many people at showers just buy you whatever they want though.

OOOOhhh this is so exciting to hear!! Cuz the baby collection I want isn't at any local stores but it WILL give people an idea of the color scheme etc!! YAY thanks!
