Bleeding stretch marks

Anyone else experience this?  The baby sits to my right and pushes. It's so painful and tender even to the touch. If I sneeze, cough or twist wrong it almost brings me to tears!  It's the only spot I have new stretch marks and they have started to open and bleed a little. So I guess I'll try and get some cream or something and see of that helps. Any other suggestions?

Re: Bleeding stretch marks

  • ouch, that sounds painful!! I've never heard of bleedin stretch marks. maybe neosporin to make sure it doesn't get infected and keep the area moist?

  • Just reading the title of this thread made me cringe.  I didn't know stretch marks could bleed... I feel for you!

  • I've bright it up at my appts. It's not new. They said its partially from standing all day plus baby pushing is bruising me. I knew someone who had twins and their stretch marks bled. So I think it's normal. Maybe baby will switch sides.

OWWWW....I'm cringing in pain just reading that.  No, my stretch marks never bled but I feel like my skin is at it's break point from time to time.

Can you sit more during the day?

I have been. I normally make it til about noon with out pain. Once it starts though, whether I sit or stand it is there the rest of the day.

  • Since you've brought it up at appointments, I guess just do whatever they're telling you. But I just wanted to say sorry--that sounds painful!
  • Mine are red, but I have never heard of them actually bleeding.  Sounds very painful.  As PP said, I would make sure that you keep em covered in neosporin to make sure they don't get infected or anything.

  • Oh my gosh, ouch! I'm so sorry! That sounds miserable. Ditto PP, I'd do some kind of ointment like Neosporin. Maybe some Aquaphor...I love that stuff. Do you wear a pregnancy support belt? I'd invest in one of those; maybe it'd keep your belly from pulling your skin so hard if it was better supported. GL!

  • oh my gosh, that must be awful! i have one or two that are really raw where she's planted her bum, but they aren't bleeding. ditto the PPs that suggest an ointment of some kind. so sorry to hear that!
