baby and me classes??? mommy and me classes???

Does anyone have any *new* suggestions for mommy and me classes/baby and me classes other than the amma locations???

Anything near Hopkins, St. Louis Park, Minnetonka preferably but I"ll go just about anywhere.

I'm thinking of forming a group somehow if I can't find something.

We were new to Minnesota last year, moved here from Michigan and I could really use some days out of the house and our NEW baby could really use the time out as well as the interaction. We want to keep him as easy going with people as possible so when we go back to MI to visit he's easy going with new people.

I've also been looking for a group and/or classes to join.  Moved to Minneapolis in March of 2011 and got pregnant only a couple of weeks after the move.  Have a couple of girlfriends that may also be interested.  I will be looking forward to any responses!

Have you checked out ECFE? I have met lots of mom friends that way.

Also, Minneapolis Moms and Babies, if they're still around is a great group. They meet in/around Richfield. At least they used to.

I would also suggest checking out the ECFE program in your school district. It is a great way to meet other parents with kids the same age as yours.

Also, I am part of a group called Minnie Moms, and we get together occasionally for play dates and Mom's Night Out (MNO).

I'm in the West metro, a little further west than SLP, Minnetonka, Hopkins area but would enjoy meeting new moms that are in the western suburbs as well.  I work full time so meetups during the day are tough but am always open to weekends and early evenings (or Mom's Night Out events )  Would be interested in forming a Mom's group for western metro area if there are others that are interested...

Once your LO is 6 mos, you can sign up for My Gym or Little Gym classes. Baby "exercises", some light gymnastics and tumbling, a puppet show, ect. DS loves My Gym. They also have free play twice a week. You could also do kindermusik classes when LO is a bit older. Songs, movement, playing with instruments, ect.

My sister-in-law goes to a group at Amma (in Edina) called Beyond Newborns. She really likes the women, the camaraderie and the advice.

Macphail has wonderful music classes. Highly recommend them!

I'd definitely love to find a west metro group - I have a 3 month old and don't have a lot of mommy friends.

I have looked into the Amma and Minnie.... thank you everyone for your help.

I will be looking at my calendar in the next couple of weeks and also looking to form something myself sometime after labor day for west metro mom's.
