Back in March, we had an unseasonably hot day. Of course, our AC broke that day, and it got up to 85 in here.
Well now it's broken again, in the middle of summer! It's 82 in here, so at least I know it was working for some portion of the day. I called the property manager, and they told me they'd get someone out tomorrow. But they told me to check the filter first, even after I told them we changed it last week. I mentioned to them that I have a 6 month old, but she said their repair guy was done for the day. So DS and I have to sweat it out until tomorrow. My brother does live nearby, but he works night shift with DH, so he isn't around to let me in his air conditioned apartment.
Poor DS has been feeding like crazy tonight just staying hydrated. He's down for bed, but I predict a bad night. Grrr...

What a miserable night. When DH got home from work at 3am, he insisted we go to my brother's house. As soon as we got in the air conditioned car, DS went right to sleep. Poor baby was as hot and miserable as I was. DH is holding down the fort at home and will let the repair man in in a couple hours (hopefully).
So mad at my property manager! I'm considering reporting them to someone for not fixing the problem and risking DS's health.
That is unacceptable. When I lived in an apartment, there was someone on call 24 hours a day for emergencies. I definitely think a 6 month old in a hot apartment with no air conditioning is an emergency. I'm sorry you both had to go through that.
So the situation still isn't resolved. DH woke up at 1 with the temp staying steady at 75, so we figured it had fixed itself and canceled the repair. Big mistake. We go back at 4 after hanging out with my brother, and it's hot again. The property manager is using a different company for repairs as their normal repair person is out of town. We call them, and we're told they won't come over for the repair until Monday. And they won't reimburse us if we call our own repair person instead. FUUUU!!!
So DS and I are spending the night at my brother's house. It's DS's first time in the pack and play, so needless to say it isn't going well. It's still better than trying to sleep in that hot trailer, but it's gonna be a rough night. And we may need to spend the weekend here if the trailer doesn't cool down enough. We're lucky my brother lives in town and has an extra bedroom, but as we're still working out the kinks in crib training, it isn't an ideal situation.
