You might hate this, but the only time I've seen this name I saw it in a book spelled Kahlan which they made a tv show out of...I know it kinda looks like Colin, but it was pronounced Kay-lynn. I thought it was kind of interesting.
I know a Cailyn and a Kaylen. I would spell it Kaylin or Cailin. But honestly, your DD is going to have a hard time with this name since there's no instinctual spelling for it. Most people have a 1 in 20 chance of spelling it right.
This. I like Cailin the best out of all the many, many possibilities, if I had to choose, but I would avoid it since there is no one (or two or three) "correct" spelling (plus I like names to have origins and meanings and the usual whatever).

My sister has this name. She spells it Cailin, which I think is so much nicer than the harsh K spellings.
I agree. I like this spelling the best BY FAR.

Of these options, Kaylen wins by a mile. Each additional y takes it down a notch in my book.
I second pp's suggestion of Kaylin ? that is how I would spell it if I just heard the name.

I grew up with one, she spelled it Cailyn.
But I vote Kaylin
I know three IRL:
Cailyn
Kaylin
Kailyn

I had a student a few years back named Kailyn.
I would second this suggestion.
One of my BFFs is Kaylin. I say keep it simple or you run the risk of it looking trashy or just made up.
It is a feminine, pretty girls name, but easily ruined with wacky spelling variations.
