Yes, I would. He will have to correct people on the spelling all of the time, and I know from experience that it can be extremely annoying! I like the traditional spelling of Cole much better.
Also, it reminds me of the vampire in The Vampire Diaries, but he spells it Kol.
Yes, I would side-eye. I (and I'm sure I'm not alone here) associate C names spelled incorrectly with K's with the Kardashian family. I find the Kardashians to be trashy famewhores, so by association the name Kole looks trashy to me.
I guess it is just totally unnecessary to me as well. Cole is perfectly good as it is- why mess it up by spelling it with a K?

Could not have said it better myself. (Looking down at my signature...it's spelled Cole.)
1. Spelling a name incorrectly does not make it more unique. When you hear the name "Kole," it sounds like Cole. I wouldn't say, "Hey! Kole with a K, what's up, yo?!"
2. Spelling a name like Cole differently will set the child up for a lifetime of misspellings and correcting the spelling. Everyone knows how to spell Cole, and will ALWAYS spell it with a C.
I would assume the parents spelled it that way to be "different," but changing the C to a K doesn't make it a different name, it just makes it look weird. It's just as bad as adding random Ys in a name. It's also not a generally accepted spelling of the name. Cole is a great name, but it's spelled with a C.

Yes. I give the side-eye to most creative spellings.
But this is an especially bad one because of the similarity in shape between the capital "K" and capital "H". When you glance at "Kole" it's similar to "Hole."
I definitely see everyone's point. My FI loves Kole spelled with a K so much but we both like Graham. He wants to spell it with a K because my DD's cousin by marriage from my ex-husband (did that make any sense, haha) is named Cole. He doesn't want the association!

More people are going to hear it than spell/read it.

Well that doesn't make any lick of sense. Spelling the name differently doesn't change the fact that IT'S THE SAME NAME!
Go fish for something else in this case.

It's still the same name no matter how you spell it.

Graham is a great name!
I totally understand it's still the same name. I guess he just has his mind made up that it should be spelled with a K. I think we will probably go with Graham because we both really like it!

Agree 100%. Just my opinion but C names spelled incorrectly don't look clever to me, just kind of trashy and uneducated.
Lucky Mom to 5 girls: 09/97, 06/99, 10/02, 11/04, 04/08 & Peanut #6 due in April!
People kan't seem to understand this koncept. Replacing a hard "c" with a "k" looks ridikulous. My kat understands that she kan't have kake everyday. I love to drink my koffee everyday. And one thing I'm really looking forward to this year, singing Khristmas Karols.

I wouldn't exactly side-eye them for the spelling. I would have to ask how it was pronounced though, just to make sure it was just like Cole. There was a little girl at my preschool center with the name Kole, but her parents pronounced it Ko-lee.
I don't see a thing wrong with Kole, spelled with a K and it has no relation towards the Kardashians, unless you wanted it to be. I don't understand all the hate towards K on C names. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, except when people over do it. If you and your DH like it, don't let anyone change your mind.
Good Luck.

Re: Kole
Can you elaborate on why?

Love Cole. Hate Kole. The K makes it look trendy and juvenile.

Yes. It looks like a male stripper name. No offense.
I love Cole, though.

Yes, 100%. I do not understand people using K for names that start with C.
They are not the same letter!!!
Yep. Because it's misspelled. And because Cole looks so much better.
Edit: Read the other responses, as well as your other name choice, Graham. LOVE Graham!!
