I have been lurking on this board for a while now but have not really posted much because I have not officially been a working mom yet. But that all changes on Monday when I have to go back to my full time job after maternity leave. I am a FTM and my baby girl will be 12 weeks on Monday. I am lucky enough to work close to home and have family to leave her with, and I do like what I do but I am dreading how much time I am going to be spending away from her.
All of you on this board have been very helpful so far and have definitely made me feel like I can do this, so thank you for that! It's always nice to hear from others who are in the same position as you.
Re: Going back to work on Monday
The first day is rough. We are on week one of daycare and I cried like a baby on the morning of the drop off.
My recommendation, if you can, is to have short days back at work. It's as much for you as her. We've managed to do late drop offs and early pickups and that's helped me to feel better about it.
