STM+: 1 hour ob apt?

So I have schedueled my next few apts and one of them is a 1 hour apt?  Any clue what goes on at this apt? I have 1 apt between now and then.  I will be about 28 weeks then.  I have no idea what to expect. I know I will ask next apt but I'm just curious if anyone else has had such a long apt.  I already had my a/s and I am having another u/s around 33 weeks to see if my placenta has moved up...but this 1 hour apt was scheduled like 2 months ago, so before they even knew I had a lower laying placenta.

It is the one hour glucose test that everyone has to do...so much fun! Bring a good book along! :-)

hmmm..it may be the glucose test, but they don't do any other tests in the office so I'm wondering if they will send me to the lab next door for it. All of my blood work has been at a lab, never in the office.

It's not a blood test so they may do it in office for you. You just have to drink this "orange soda" stuff and sit for an hour and they check your glucose level to see if you have Gestational Diabetes... fun stuff... I agree with PP, bring a good book! :-)

They draw blood to get your glucose level.  They'll probably give you the drink then send you next door or just send you next door when finished.

That would be nice if the GD test is combined with your regular appointment. I wish my OB did that!
