Up until Tuesday I was only suffering from morning sickness/evening sickness, bloating and hot flashes. Suddenly on Tuesday I'm having what my nurse described as indigestion. Crazy bloating to the point where it's super uncomfortable even in loose clothes, upset stomach, feeling like I have food stuck in my throat. I keep burping too which at times feels more like I'm going to throw up. Sorry if it's TMI. I've never had to deal with this before.
Any tips or helpful advice? My nurse told me to watch the sodium and take some Tums. I've been doing both and neither are helping. I should include that I started an antibiotic Monday night for bacteria found in my urine. The side effects include upset stomach so I'm sure that's not helping the indigestion. I'm trying to decide if I should ask my doctor for a different prescription or just suck it up for the remaining three days and see if it gets better. I'm not even sure if changing the prescription would help. TIA!

Heartburn and indigestion stink! I have really really bad heartburn and indigestion (even before I found out about baby on board) and take Prilosec everyday. Being a newbie I checked with the OB about whether to take Prilosec still (I get no relief from Tums) and they gave me the green light.
I've learned that certain foods trigger more heartburn (I get heartburn from citrus, bananas, peanuts, and a ton of other stuff...) and I've been told that milk really helps out. Also, you can try elevating your pillow as you sleep because it helps with the digestion and reduces the heartburn a bit. Hope that helps you!
