Hello to everyone, this is my first time posting. As well this is my 1st pregnancy, so maybe I'm overreacting but who knows. Today I had my first appt with the Doctor and everything seemed alright however they were unable to find a heartbeat.

I believe I am nine weeks so I don't know if this is normal or not, but I am sacred now and not really sure how to take it. I go for my first ultrasound on Tuesday, where I am hoping for some better results. Is anyone else going through this, or these emotions? And am I overreacting at being scared and nervous?
Re: 1st appt - no heartbeat, nervous
Your doctor is an idiot for even trying to find the heartbeat via doppler at 9 weeks. It's next to impossible. Your baby is still behind your pelvic bone and it's so very tiny. I'm sorry that they even tried this, only to have your anxiety shoot through the roof.
Your first u/s will tell you far more than a doppler ever could anyway. Try to relax until Tuesday.

This. The baby is till sooo tiny that I'm surprised they even tried a doppler. I'm sure your u/s will reveal a healthy little one squirming away!!! Good luck!!!
My OB couldn't get the heartrate at 10 weeks with my first. But when he examined me I was definitely pregnant. As other PPs have said, there are lots of perfectly safe reasons you couldn't hear it. Don't panic.

I agree! My OB does an u/s before even attempting the Doppler. Don't even worry about it!!!!! That little baby is in there swimming laps!
My DR won't even look for a heartbeat until at least 10 weeks. When I asked her why she said b/c many times you just can't find it and she never wants to make her new mommies nervous.
They saw the baby and it measured right where they expected, correct? Than guess what- that baby is okay
They wouldn't even try at my 9 week because the doctor said it was almost always too early to hear.
Try not to get too nervous!
