This subject just came up on my birth month board and I loved reading everyone's stories, so let's do it here too!

How did you meet your significant other and how did your love story begin?

We met on our high school swim team when I was 13.  I was a freshman (and really pretty terrible at competitive swimming) and he was the super-hot senior all-star.  He would always push me in during practice and made fun of me all the time.  I had a HUGE crush on him, but he had a girlfriend, and I was really awkward and too young to date.  I found excuses to stalk him wherever he happened to be working at the time.We became really good friends once I went to college and e-mailed and IMed a lot.  He was living with his brother about 3.5 hours away but whenever he came home to visit his parents, he'd always find excuses to be wherever I was too.  On our first "date" we went to see the movie Hitch.  He had planned on telling me he liked me that night but said the movie just confused him so much that he kept his mouth shut.  He invited me to a friend's wedding, we hung out the whole night afterwards.  As he was walking me to my car, he kissed me goodbye.  I got so flustered and didn't know what to do, so I just said, "Oh!  Um, okay, bye!" and got in my car and left.  :-)  We started dating the next day.  He told me he loved me and that he was going to marry me after 3 weeks.  We were engaged after 9 months, and had a 1.5 year engagement.So we harbored secret crushes on each other for 7 years, dated for 2 and have been married for 4!

We met when I was in medical school and he was in law school. I was studying at the Law School library to get away from the distractions at the med school, and he gave me a hard time for "invading" the law school territory. Our first date was dinner downtown followed by me kicknig his ass in skee-ball and air hockey at Jillian's. I think we both thought we were doomed when our dinner conversation revealed him to be a former frat boy turned republican and me to be a jamband loving vegetarian, but we stuck it out, had a great time horsing around at Jillians, and ended the night with a kiss. We dated for about 16 months then got engaged, and were married 6 months later. Now we've been married almost 7 years

We first met when I was 15 and he was 24.  I worked at a Culver's in Plainfield, and he was going to be working at the Culver's in Greenwood as a manager.  He (and all the other managers) started out working at the Plainfield location for training.  Fast forward 6 years later and probably about 3-4 girlfriends later for him :-)  The two restaurants were owned by the same person.  The owner asked me if he could give him my number.  I told him that he could. 

I think a couple of weeks later he sent me a text on a Saturday morning around 8:30am.  I remember that because he was at work, and the girls there told him he shouldn't have texted me so early!  But, I was at work opening the restaurant so it didn't matter.  We talked & texted quite a bit and had our first day on February 11th I believe.  We went to a Mexican restaurant and then to a bar for some pool and drinks.  We came back to his house and watched a movie. 

He sent me a text the next day asking when he could see me again and if I wanted to go out on Valentine's Day.  I went over on Valentine's Day and he had made a steak dinner.  I found out later that he even called his Grandmother to tell her about dinner he was making for a girl (which I was told he never did!)  He decided that February 14th was our first day because it sounded better (but I bet because it was easier to remember! :-D)

He proposed on our two year anniversary (2/14/11).  We were married just 8 months later (10/22/11), and just "celebrated" our 10 month anniversary lol.   We hope to get pregnant real soon!
