A week or so ago I had two days of red spotting, followed by a clot after it had stopped. No cramping or pain, and no bleeding since then. I had bloodwork done yesterday. The nurse called this morning and said I was at 9200, and that was "good and promising". But she wanted me in today for an ultrasound.
I know nothing about numbers and if that is good or not. My first pregnancy was a breeze. I feel like a total newb this time. At first the plan was to check numbers again in two days, but now an u/s? Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Re: Bleeding and beta question.
I'm sorry that you had that scare last week!
U/S is considered a far better measure of pregnancy progress than betas. So if your betas are high enough to visualize your pregnancy through u/s, that is the best way to go. If your u/s does not concur with your expected dates than they will likely draw blood again in 48 hr to see if they are going up or down. FYI, by the time you get up to 9200, it will likely take longer than 48 to double. Also, some doctors will order bloodwork tomorrow anyway, even if your u/s is on target.
Good luck today!
