1st Trimester

So scared

I am just about six weeks along and haven't really had any cramping ( had brown discharge in the beginning) but no cramping. I'm going to call my doc in the morning of course but just to make it through the night I would like to know what you guys have experienced..

I am experiencing some sort of cramping in the top left of my vaginia and then I went to the restroom and wiped and saw brown not to heavy discharge. I have had 2 previous miscarriages and honestly just terrified. My last one I didn't even realize I had miscarried. Is this the end? Or can this be ok? I am just falling apart.

Re: So scared

  • I don't really know a lot - but from what I've been reading - brown blood and spotting are normal; bright red blood isn't a good sign.  Good luck at your doctor's appt tomorrow, I'm sure you are just a nervous wreck :(

  • I can't tell you much besides cramping can happen. Call your doctor and if it's really bad there is always the ER. My midwife said my cramping is normal, but if I felt like the pain was really bad or I did more then spot to go in.

First, breathe deep breaths. You sound very panicked. Slow down & center yourself. You will make it.

Second, I have had two losses myself. I know the terror of wanting baby to stick & worrying constantly that something is going to happen. E-hugs.

Third, I would say that brown discharge is old blood. As long as it is not bright red flow with painful cramping then you are more than likely fine.

The pains you are experiencing could be baby snuggling in (same with the discharge) & you are feeling your body adjusting. Some discomfort & cramping in odd places is normal.

I am not saying not to call your doctor. If it lessens your anxiety please contact them. However, please try not to make yourself sick with worry. To be up front, your doctor could not do much for you at this stage even if you were miscarrying.

It is scary, I understand, but I am crossing my fingers & saying a prayer that all turns out safe for you. Take a warm bath/shower, put on some nice music & try your best not to stress if you can. Right now you are pregnant & love your baby. Wishing you the best!
