Babies: 3 - 6 Months

what should i ask this is

my LO just turned 3 months today, time flew by.  my LO has a Dr app on the ST for eating/constipation issues as Dr called it. DD is on Gerber soy which has helped with her not to throw up, but is always constipated. she turns so red when pooping and when she  poops its a hard ball terd as i call it.  the Dr she was seeing has been switched and her new one sees her on the ST. well now she is throwing up when she gets excited/overly happy when me DH or her other sisters interact with her. my sister in law seems to think she might have acid reflex, but the whole point of getting a new Dr was to have her tested for a milk allergy and or colic. her ST Dr refused to do any of these and was pure torture for my LO for about a month and a half. DH had to have soy formula as a baby and so did one of other daughters, but yet telling the ST Dr this she said its not relevant to my LO issues but my gut tells me different as a parent, so what should i be looking for if my LO does have a milk allergy or reflux?

Re: what should i ask this is

  • If it's acid reflux, she would be in pain as she spit up. She would cry/fuss during feedings, and while burping.

In terms of milk protein allergy, DD1 cried excessively because the formulas that we tried gave her very painful gas. We tried soy, and she threw up almost immediately. She was eventually put On Nutramigen, and it really helped. DD2 had blood in her stool on gentle formula, so she was also put on Nutramigen.

Eta: Other indicators of a milk protein allergy are eczema, gassiness, difficulty breathing, digestive problems, extreme fussiness, and diarrhea. Also, I'm not sure they can really test your LO for milk allergy or colic. Your pedi will examine her stool, discuss symptoms, and family history, but that's about it.
