Question for a friend

I work with this girl who just got a super faint line yesterday. She called the doctor and she said the doctor said to test again later in the week and then to call back the following monday. Does anyone know why the doctor would say to call back at another time? She said the doc seemed like she was in a hurry but hung up the phone before she could ask. Thanks.

Has she actually missed her period yet?  The doc could want her to wait a little longer to see if she actually misses her period before scheduling an appointment.

Yes, she did miss it. However, she has been spotting very lightly today but not enough to need anything.

Most practices won't see you until 8 weeks (unless you've has previous issues).  And some pregnancies are chemical and end before implantation even occurs - but if you test early enough, you could get a BFP.

Most offices/doctors won't see you until you have missed a period or have a positive test ... if neither one of these things happen by CD 60 then they will see you. Since you describe the line as super faint it could be an evap. She definitely needs to test again this week to be sure! And pink dye is better than blue dye tests!

A line is a line. Tell her to take a digital and call back. You can't dispute the word "pregnant" on the test.

I would think it would be to rule out a chemical pregnancy.

Ultimately, if it's not a c/p, then her hcg levels are going to increase every day, and the line will go from faint to no question.
