A really weird symptom

The past several days, I've had the strangest thing happen to me, that I'm assuming is a pregnancy symptom.  While I eat, the inside of my throat feels cold, like it's been blasted with an arctic wind.  Then as soon as I'm done eating, it goes away.

Several people have told me it's just heartburn, but I've had heartburn before and this certainly doesn't feel like it.  And it only happens while I eat, and not after.

Any ideas?  Or heard of something like this happening?

Thanks!

Re: A really weird symptom

  • It is probably acid reflux - which, essentially, is the same thing as heartburn - it's just coming up higher into your throat. Try having a TUMS or two, about 15min before you eat and see if it helps at all. That cold feeling is almost always some kind of acid related problem.

  • That is so weird.  When I've had heartburn in the past, it always burned; it's never been cold.  But I'll give the Tums a try and see if that helps.

    Thanks!

  • I agree with acid reflux.  I get it all the time and it sucks.  I would go straight for the zantac 150 if I were you because that stuff actually works.  TUMS just cause me to reflux up TUMS. :)

^ this. Zantac saved me last pregnancy. I will be living off it shortly I'm sure.
