I think anything but names ending with 'a' will sound fine. I think it's nice that you are using a family name for the mn, but go with something you love as the first name, how often are you going to say the whole thing anyway?

Exactly! Go with a name you love, it doesn't necessarily have to "go" with Paula. I honestly don't remember the last time I said my first and middle name together. But if you need suggestions:
My first thought was Elizabeth Paula, as a PP already suggested.
OP, would you consider a variant? Pauline and Paulette seem more middle name-y to me, if that makes sense.
The grandmother, Paula, is named after the great grandmother, Pauline. I also think Pauline is "more middle name-y" too, but we're trying to specifically use Paula.
Maybe we'll get lucky with a boy?!

Thank you ladies for your suggestions.
A few of your suggestions caught my eye... we have time to decide though.
I'll be sure to run our final decision by you all for consideration when the time comes.
Thanks again!
