Thanks for the sound machine recommendation! I will admit I was skeptical because I thought the lullaby sounds CD and fan would have to be equivalent, but I gave the sound machine a try and it definitely is better. The ocean sound is AWESOME! She is still a crappy sleeper, but you can walk by her door now, squeaky floors and all with no worries and I don't have to worry as much about my DH who is incapable of whispering.  

Anyway just wanted to say I was wrong and thanks.

It has a  projector too which is great for distracting her when she is in overtired melt down mode.

That's the one we have too.  Lurve it.

We have that one, too.  We've never used the projector since it's so loud.  We have a turtle that has stars and moons that projects on the ceiling if we need it (like tonight)
