There are a lot of cribs for 150 and less. Go to Target.com and Walmart.com. We bought DD's set from Walmart.com and it was the same brand as BRU but half the cost!!
I know that the "Lauren" and "Sarah" deigns (i believe Graco brand) are supposed to be very good and not very expensive.
Another rec for the Graco Lauren. We are getting another one this time around.
Eta: We are getting a 2nd one becuase we need 2, not because the 1st one needs to be replaced. Just wanted to clarify that it is still holding up great.

Check Craigslist. You may be surprised. Just make sure that the product you look at is up to safety standards, being a non-drop side, or having a product recall from the company through which you can get a retrofit kit to make it safe.
We got our would-be $600 PB Kids crib for $100 on CL, and DH just bolted that drop-side in place better than the kit would have done.
We got the Davinci Jenny Lind off of Amazon for $168 (not under $150 but so close!!) - and amazon ships for free right to your door. We liked the more "antique-y" look of this crib. So many cribs now have the more modern look, which is great if that's what you're looking for, but we were going more old school
We got the Graco Lauren at BRU. We wanted the French Vanilla so we couldn't order it from Wal-Mart but Wal-Mart often has great deals on Graco cribs where you often get a free matress.
We won't get to use our crib until December but my friends highly suggest it.
I bought my whole nursery at Ikea. I wasn't fond of the simplicity of the crib at all, but we got it and it has been great. The quality is good, my son couldn't escape it and it made a great toddler bed.
We also went with the Graco Lauren. I think it was $157 from Wal-Mart after tax, including free ship-to-store. We were deciding between that and the $70 Ikea one. In the end the Graco just seemed a little more sturdy and I liked the regular bed support under the mattress rather than the simple board at Ikea, so we spend the extra money. Though my friends have the Ikea one for the 4-month old and seem happy with it so far! The profile is small enough that they're been able to keep it in their bedroom.

We bought the mattress new.
Same one we just bought. It was rated pretty high on Amazon and the safety ratings were great. I got it for 170

I didn't. I just bought a white changer/dresser since the crib was white and it looks perfectly fine together.
No, we have a dresser already that we're doubling as a changing table.
