I bought some OTC nausea relief stuff (the store brand of the medicine Emetrol) -- the doctor says it is safe to use but I thought I'd ask you ladies if you'd tried it before and had any luck? If not, how about the pink stuff (bisthmul)? Just having some mild but rather unsettling nausea today, and I have a severe phobia of vomiting... so looking for anything to keep handy for relief at this point. Any suggestions on those medicines???
Re: Never had m/s before, 3rd pregnancy, thoughts on 'emetrol' for nausea?
pretty sure you can't take bisthmul/Pepto while pregnant. I have taken Emetrol before not pregnant. It was okay if you can get over the sickening sweetness of it.
ETA: Sour Lifesavers and Lemon Heads got me through my first trimester with both kids.
Right ovary removed 09.04.2012 via vertical laparotomy
Essure implant placed on remaining tube 06.13.2013; successful followup scan 09.30.2013
Although I've never taken it, I've had 2 friends who both recommended it to me when I was complaining about my morning sickness. They were pregnant when they took it.
It's also on the "medicines you can take while pregnant" sheet my Dr. gave me last week. HTH.
Edited: I was referring to the Emetrol.
I used emetrol when pregnant with DD. It sorta helped. Sometimes it just put off the vomiting, which is slightly positive, so I could get to a bathroom. One time though, I accidentally took it instead of cough syrup, that was the sickest I ever got while pregnant with DD.
I decided to take Zofran this pregnancy, which is soooo much better.
