    Are these movies? If not I like fried green tomatoes. I don't think steel magnolias would taste very good.

    Agreed. I loved the book for Fried Green Tomatoes too.

    FGT is one of the rare examples of a movie being better than the book.  The book is awesome, but the ambiguity at the end of the movie pushes it into the realm of wicked awesome.

    I've never seen FGT but how in the WORLD could it be better than SM!? That is one of my all time favorite movies. Next to pollyanna and parent trap (the originals).

    I love them both, but FGT is way funnier.

    PSA: Don't watch Steel Magnolias while you're home on maternity leave.  New baby hormones + that movie = ugly cry.

    I vote Fried Green Tomatoes. I mean, they literally cooked the S.O.B.   Oh wait... that was Fried Green Tomatoes, right? I get the two mixed up in my head. 

    I vote for the one where they cook the guy and serve him to the sherriff.

    As far as movies, Steel Magnolias wins.

    I feel sorry for all of you who have never seen either. Please go see them. It's for your own good. : )

    I love that I am from the place where the Whistle Stop Cafe (for those who've never seen FGT, this is where some of the story takes place) really is...AMAZING place. : )
