FGT is one of the rare examples of a movie being better than the book. The book is awesome, but the ambiguity at the end of the movie pushes it into the realm of wicked awesome.

I've never seen FGT but how in the WORLD could it be better than SM!? That is one of my all time favorite movies. Next to pollyanna and parent trap (the originals).

I vote Fried Green Tomatoes. I mean, they literally cooked the S.O.B. Oh wait... that was Fried Green Tomatoes, right? I get the two mixed up in my head.
I vote for the one where they cook the guy and serve him to the sherriff.
I feel sorry for all of you who have never seen either. Please go see them. It's for your own good. : )
I love that I am from the place where the Whistle Stop Cafe (for those who've never seen FGT, this is where some of the story takes place) really is...AMAZING place. : )
A woman's life is nine parts mess to one part magic, you'll learn that soon enough...and the parts that look like magic turn out to be the messiest of all.

I love that you got the bump gods to change your screen name because of a spelling error. <33
Oh, and they're both good, but I've only seen FGT once, so I can't really decide.
Truth.
Eh.
FGT is more engrossing throughout, but the cemetery scene of SM takes the cake.

Make it three. I FGT. I don't like Steel Magnolias.
Love both. But, I am a bit partial to Dolly. :-) Guilty pleasure!
But Fried Green Tomatoes is a Southern woman's Forrest Gump.
Ouiser is side eyeing all of you right now.
Sipsey will hit you over the head with a cast iron pan.
Me too. Gah, people.
I love them both, but FGT is way funnier.
PSA: Don't watch Steel Magnolias while you're home on maternity leave. New baby hormones + that movie = ugly cry.

Fried Green Tomatoes TASTE better.
As far as movies, Steel Magnolias wins.
