My H and I finally decided to attempt #2. I'm having a transabdominal cerclage placed next week. I'm having it done laparoscopically (sp?) by my own OBGYN. Of course I'm nervous because it's surgery but he's assured me that the recovery is very easy. I want to believe him?!
Has anyone had this procedure? I know Lemen has. Anyone else? For those of you that are considering it, I'll post an update after it's over.
Re: IC Ladies: TAC
I've started looking into a TAC, getting alot of good info from abbyloopers. Good luck with your procedure and please do report back.
Did you previously have a TVC? My ob and mfm are still pushing to do the TVC and P17 with a future pregnancy. I'm just not sure I'm comfortable with that.

I've gotten a lot of good info from Abbyloopers too but that group is kind of anti-lap so I haven't posted there before.
I haven't had a TVC before. I went around in my own mind whether to risk it and try the TVC first but I really can't afford to be on bedrest with a FT job and a toddler. We figured that the TAC would give us the highest chance at the best possible outcome. Luckily my OB was completely on board with the TAC.
That is exactly how I feel about the TVC. I just cant risk lengthy bedrest or another micropreemie for the sake of my family. The game changes when you have a child at home too.
I really feel that a TVC may work for me, but I also really feel that it wouldn't be without alot of bedrest and probably some time in the hospital. My cervix didn't start funneling until 21 weeks but it got bad quickly. Luckily once I was fully effaced it took a while for me to dilate. This makes me think that I would definitely funnel to the stitch of a TVC and then be on bedrest and have an over the top anxiety ridden pregnancy. On the other hand, who knows how much P17 may help.
I hope your TAC procedure goes well and you have an easy recovery
