If you make your own cleaners....

Anyone have a good bathroom recipe?

Re: If you make your own cleaners....

  • I use vinegar and water for just about everything. For the toilet bowl I just sprinkle baking soda in it, let it sit and then spritz my vinegar/water solution on it. I have a swiffer that I refilled with the same vinegar/water solution that I use on the floors. I occasionally have to use store bought cleaner for the tub but most of the time the homemade stuff does the trick.

  • Same as above.  I use 50/50 vinegar/water mix and the baking soda for the toilet.

  • I really like this scrub that I found from Queen of Green:

    1 2/3 c. baking soda
1/2 c. liquid castile soap (I use lavender b/c I like the scent)
    1/2 c. water
    2 Tbsp. white vinegar

Mix well in bottle and pour onto surface that needs cleaning. Rinse well. Shake vigorously before each use.

I use it in the bathroom as well as the stainless steel sink in the kitchen and it works beautifully.

  • I find that plain baking soda works well for scrubbing out a bathtub.  Just wet the surface, sprinkle it on and let it sit and then scrub with a brush.
