1. What fruit are you/how many weeks and days?
Onions today (17 weeks) which is appropriate since tears might start at any given moment!
2. Any new symptoms/milestones?
Icky/odd breast changes (not my favorite thing). I feel movement every once in a while but it is very inconsistant. BUT I was feeling them on Saturday and DH actually was able to feel just a little bit. I was amazed this soon that he could feel a little rumble on the outside.
3. What are your views on spanking? Use this all the time? Never? On occasion?
I do not plan to spank. An adult is a GIANT to a child... a defenseless thing that is counting on you for protection. I don't want to get preachy or judge anyone but it's not my style. I very clearly remember the fear that spanking caused in me as a child and I associate that with my parents.
4. Will you dress your LOs in matching/coordinating outfits on a daily basis?
Ha! I'll be lucky if I'M wearing a coordinated outfit on a daily basis!
I think we will for some things (photos, special outings, etc) but with the number of changings going on I don't think we could keep up if we tried. And when they're older we'll let them pick if they want to or not.
5. Where will your LOs sleep? In your room? Nursery? Crib/ bassinet/ etc?
We currently plan to start them in the nursery cribs from the get go... but we'll see if that doesn't turn into them ending up in our room.
6. What theme are you doing the nursery?
We decided on a loose theme of "Our adventure together" and picked the colors. It's kind of an adventure/imagination/travel theme that we're keeping gender-neutral.
7. Any upcoming appointments/ultrasounds?
Not until 20 weeks but our 16 week appointment was wonderful! They did a 4D ultrasound with surface imaging and gave us a DVD of the appointment. There are some really amazing images on it and it's great to see them moving around and even snuggling/sucking their thumbs in there. I posted this pic elsewhere last week but I like showing them off.

2. Any new symptoms/milestones? Feeling lots of kicks and my back has started hurting.
3. What are your views on spanking? Use this all the time? Never? On occasion? I don't spank my older daughter. I don't want to spank but I will never say never.

5. Where will your LOs sleep? In your room? Nursery? Crib/ bassinet/ etc? Probably in a bassinet in our room for a few months. My plan is to move them when they are STTN. they will be sharing a room with my older daughter so I don't want them to wake her if I can help it.

7. Any upcoming appointments/ultrasounds? Not this week. I went last week for a routine heartbeat check and heard 2 beautiful heartbeats.

We had our fetal echiocardiogram, and all is well. But we got to watch our boys kick each other for over an hour! Hopefully, they will leave that behaviour in the womb!

I'm not a spanker. I taught kindergarten in a tougher neighbourhood, and I had to tell a parent her child was being very hands on. Then I watched, appalled, as the mom proceeded to spank/hit her daughter, while yelling "We don't hit! Hitting is not nice!" I feel I need to model the behaviour I expect. I'm much bigger on setting reasonable expectations and removing issues (like taking away a toy if kids are fighting over it).
Do you think that my training as a preschool or kindergarten teacher will come in handy with two? I've heard some teacher friends say it is so different with your own...

No. I bought a few coordinating and matching outfits for pictures, but as a one income family, I'm pretty dedicated to the idea of utilizing garage sales and thrift shops (I've found some really nice stuff!) and the chances of finding matched stuff isn't high.
5. Where will your LOs sleep? In your room? Nursery? Crib/ bassinet/ etc?
Probably in our room till four months, then I think they will share a crib for a bit. I'm still hoping to get a bigger house, so I feel like all of this planning could change in a heartbeat.
6. What theme are you doing the nursery?
No theme, exactly. We are going with gray, blue and white, with Chinese lantern mobiles. I am going to try to have fox blankets made out of the cutest fabric I found online. (https://www.birchfabrics.com/scamper.html)
We have also been getting some cool accent pieces, like two handmade dragons (since the babies will be born in the year of the dragon) and a neat alien nightlight from Ikea.
7. Any upcoming appointments/ultrasounds?
We have another ultrasound coming up. I'd like top reconfirm they are both still boys! One babe has been really shy and even though I'm sure the tech was correct, I want a second opinion!

2. Any new symptoms/milestones? I've felt the babies a couple times from the outside!! Hubby has yet to be here when that happens :O(
3. What are your views on spanking? Use this all the time? Never? On occasion? I'm against it. I was only spanked once as a child. I can't say I'll never do it because who knows but I feel there are other ways to discipline without putting your hands on a child.
4. Will you dress your LOs in matching/coordinating outfits on a daily basis? Unless it's pictures or a special occassion they won't be!
5. Where will your LOs sleep? In your room? Nursery? Crib/ bassinet/ etc? They'll start in our room for the first few months in their crib. Then when they're sleeping through the night better they'll move to the nursery and still share a crib unless it becomes an issue.
6. What theme are you doing the nursery? I think we're going with grey and blue for the colors and elephants :O)

Hello, ladies!!!! Well, leave it to my fetuses to be different....WE'RE HAVING A WHOLE LOTTA PINK!!! I was totally shocked (although, we did have some forewarning, since my reg OB thought they were G/G at my u/s at 16 wk.) I still was convinced there was at least ONE boy in there. Guess not!! I don't want to say I'm disappointed, I just was really hoping for a boy. These lil ladies will be so much fun, though!! I haven't even let myself look at super girly things (ei-nursery, etc) so I'm excited to start! Also, don't judge me that my girls will be wearing boy cloth diapers; I've been investing for several weeks now!
Also, an update from my MFM appt from hell: I planned to go into my appt with my reg OB today and let her know of our horrible experience. Well, she beat me to the punch. She apologized up and down and said had she known that's the dr that was going to be out here she wouldn't have scheduled my a/s with her. I guess my dr had 3 other complaints (including that the MFM wasn't wearing a bra) from other patients. My OB also said that she is "no longer with the medical center" although she didn't know if she was asked to leave or left on her own. I just feel bad for anyone else that ever has to endure that woman's terrible bedside manner!!

3. What are your views on spanking? Use this all the time? Never? On occasion? Hmm...I'm not 100% against it, but I also believe it should be used rarely--and not until a certain age (where kids are cognitively able to understand). Being in the field I'm in (EI-SLP) I know & coach a lot of different models to parents (Love & Logic, etc). There are MANY other effective ways of discipline; having said that, though, I do feel there's a (rare) time & place for spanking.
4. Will you dress your LOs in matching/coordinating outfits on a daily basis? We have 2 nieces, so I'm hoping for hand-me-downs from my SIL, so probably not!
5. Where will your LOs sleep? In your room? Nursery? Crib/ bassinet/ etc? Using the Arm's Reach co-sleeper in the beginning, then transitioning into their own beds. Not sure of the timeline.
6. What theme are you doing the nursery? No theme. Walls are a light gray and the dresser is a tiffany blueish/aqua (I painted the dresser last summer). Not sure what colors we'll accent with yet. I guess bring on the frills and pink!! I'm loving the custom bedding on etsy; I just need to start looking at girl bedding now! Everything I've saved in my favorites was gender neutral/boyish!
7. Any upcoming appointments/ultrasounds? MFM appt on 8-13...luckily it will be with a different doctor! I confirmed that with my reg OB a few times today!
