Hi Ladies -
I've "lurked" on these boards for awhile, but haven't been much of a poster.
I have a question (sorry if it is long winded) and hoping some of you might be able to help me out.
My daughter is 17 months. About 3 months ago, we noticed a small round patch on the top of her head where the hair had fallen out. Over the past 3 months, it has spread into larger areas. Her hair is SLOWLY growing back in some of those spots already though.
Our pediatrician has referred us to a pediactric dermatologist - however we can't get in for a few months due to her being the only specilist in our state. I wanted some answers sooner - so we did go see a dermatologist that does see children.
He is "guessing" it is a form of alopecia but hasn't seen it in a child this young. He prescribed a cream to rub onto the spots that should help stimulate hair growth again.
We are still seeing the pediactic derm at the end of September so I am hoping she can give us more answers.
However, I've also heard this could also be a sign of an allergy of some kind.
Just curious if any of you have had any experience with something like this.
Thanks for any help!
