J had 4 teeth pop through last week. Prior to that, his sleep had been fine. Going down drowsy but awake, sleeping until about 5:30, etc. We also had h's parents babysitting him, which compounded the problem b/c they rocked him to sleep & held him for most naps. I gave up on drowsy but awake halfway through last week b/c the ILs were making me feel guilty for letting him CIO (something we hadn't had to deal with for a while prior to their visit.) I should have held my ground, but the new teeth threw me off.
Now we're back to screaming in his crib at bedtime, multiple wake ups, more screaming, & general pissiness. I know we're going to have to sleep train again, but now J's pulling to standing in his crib which we didn't have to contend with before. It's got to be easier the second time around, right?! I'm thinking no, but am holding out hope. No point to this post- just had to get it off my chest.
Re: Sleep regression (again, I know)
::raises hand:: Us too!
The first 2-3 nights since we were home were BAD, waking 5+ times a night. We just stayed consistent, did some CIO (but not much, poor guy probably didn't know where he was going to wake up next). He's back to 2x a night, but I'd like him to get back to the 1x we were at a few weeks ago.
I think it probably would be a little easier the second time around, maybe he'll take to it a little faster? He's smarter now too, though, so he'll probably try to manipulate a little lol.
Aw, poor J! Travel sucks for adults, so it's got to be rough for the babies.
He's definitely manipulating me. The first couple wake ups can be diffused with me rubbing his back. The last one will start with me rubbing his back, him rolling over, shoving my hands away from his tummy, then trying to stand. He stops crying as soon as I pick him up. He's not hungry, just wants to cuddle. Don't get me wrong- I love cuddles. Just not at 2am.
What a little stinker. I feel your pain!
Good luck!
