My doctor told me that we could start the transition slowly (starting out with other dairy products like cheese, yogurt, etc) to WCM at Pumpkin's 9 month check.
So my question is, how? Do you mix it with the formula (we're FF - about 22 oz per day)? Do I give one bottle straight WCM when it comes to that point? Would love recommendations/suggestions.
Pumpkin did not do well on my breastmilk. I did not cut out dairy as that was a step I did not feel I would be successful at. We switched to FF at that point (4 months). I'm a little worried about his reaction to WCM.

Re: Transitioning to WCM
A has been eating dairy since about 7 months and it doesn't seem to be a problem at all. I have not talked to our doctor about it yet, but I would also just start with yoghurt and cheese, and then, if that goes well, I would start giving him milk every now and then - as in letting have a sip here and there. Maybe with his cereal?
If none of that causes any problems, you could give him a bottle. But then, I keep hearing they should stay on bm/formula until at least a year old.
Sorry that isn't much help.....
Good thought on not putting milk in the bottle. He actually never really did take to a sippy cup, but is doing a straw cup quite well. He might be able to get a sippy now that he has the concept of sucking to get liquid.

SILs fiance, who's a pedi, said he tells his patients to mix the milk with water.
