Anyone checking out double strollers?
My daughter will be 3 when the baby arrives so I don't want one that is two seats in a row, maybe something that could function well as a single stroller but still be able to have her in it if she wants a ride.
I was looking at the Britax B-Ready stroller... and buy the 2nd seat attachment. It basically goes behind and under the regular seat. I like this stroller too because we aren't going to use an infant car seat but a convertible Britax, so I won't have to put the car seat in the stroller for it to be fit for an infant.
Anyone else looking at doubles? Which ones? Sit and stands?
Thanks!!!!!!!
Re: Double Strollers
I'm going with the Graco Ready 2 Grow because there are sooooo many different options as to how they can ride. You can do big kid in the back sitting or standing or baby in the back, big kid in the front. I have a Graco stroller now and it folds the exact same way, it just doesn't lock shut like mine does. It also is taller when it folds down, but not much longer so it will fit in the back of my car ok. I figured I can just take it out of the car for grocery shopping (which I will wear the baby and DS will ride in the shopping cart) and then keep it in there all the time otherwise, which is what I do now anyway.
We have this stroller and it is AWESOME. So great with the seat configurations and as a single stroller, and as a stroller that isn't side-by-side it isn't so long that you feel like you are pushing a land barge, which is nice. We rented a Graco or Peg Perego stroller, I can't remember which, on a trip and it felt so flimsy compared to my City Select. It's a sturdy stroller without being too heavy. I highly, highly recommend it. I'd imagine an older child would be very comfortable in it, and it's really grown with my son.
And if you look on Amazon or rightstart.com they probably have the 2011 models on sale because they just came out with a 2011.
We just purchased a used Baby Jogger City Elite Double on ebay. We have the single City Elite for ds and LOVE this stroller so much! The double was exactly what we wanted, but they stopped making it this year for the new City Mini GT (which we tried and didn't like as much--less roomy for ds and no adjustable foot rest). I was so happy to get a used one in great shape. If we couldn't find that used, I was going to get the City Mini GT. We looked at the City Select also, but I wanted a side by side and didn't like how you couldn't lean the seats back very far. In general, I'm super impressed with the quality and customer service of Baby Jogger.
I got a double stroller through Craigslist. It's a Baby Jogger City Select. I didn't want a front and back or sit and stand. Mine is a side by side. I needed something sturdy enough to take on our daily walks which are longish and are in mixed terrain. It sounds dorky, but I seriously can't wait to bust out this new stroller!!
I have the Britax B ready and I love it! Love how you can put your car seat on it when the baby is tiny then convert it to a two seater. Love how if I just have one kid with me I only have to put one seat on it. The stroller is really stable too. My two year old climbs in and out of it and it has never toppled over.
I bought the lower car seat adapter so my son could ride in the top seat and I could put my infant in her car seat on the bottom. Awesome stroller for the cost. Plus they make it in green...my favorite color.
i think we are splurging for the bumbleride indie.
my son will be 2 1/2 when baby comes and we tried the phil & ted's and britax with the underneath seat and he hated sitting down there. it's a little claustraphobic esp if your LO is on the taller side. so we were side by side because of that.
i have compared the BOB, baby trend and bumbleride and even though its $$$ the bumbleride is the winner for us.
