Since DH and I found out I was pregnant we have started calling our growing baby Poppy because at the time we found out, we saw that the baby was the size of a poppy seed. Slowly it has started growing on me and I am wondering if maybe we will use it for the name if this baby ends up being a girl (and I am convinced it will be). What do you think of the name?

It's cute sounding, albeit a little juvenile. I don't like the color orange though so in general I'm not a fan of poppies/Poppy.
If nothing else, I think it would make a sweet pet name for her if you decide upon another name.

Thanks- it is always helpful to hear a someone's real experience with the name. But I can also see that there are mixed opinions wit the main reservation being the name is too young. But I'm not sure that is really a big deal to me to have a name that keeps you forever young
And I also appreciate all the background and history with it- now it makes total sense- I guess I am just a huge sucker for British names!
This, more or less. It's better as a nn.
