So we went looking for maternity clothes yesterday and it ended up with me in a mini-meltdown. We went to Old Navy because it said online they had the skinny jeans now for maternity, and I wanted some. The section is like five feet by five feet! And then DH made me go and look at Pea in the Pod. This prices are crazy and the sizes are way off.
So I got really pissed and cried. So now I'm looking more online an wondering what everyone recommends? I like the clothes on ASOS, and the prices are alright. Some of the stuff on TopShop is alright, but some is pricey. Then the H&M stuff is cute, but there isn't much of it. Where else would you recommend looking for stuff that's inexpensive but also not frumpy?
Re: Maternity Clothes?
I like the Gap and Target. In the store Target doesn't have very much, but you can go there to figure out sizes and then buy online. (if you have a Target Redcard you get 5% off and shipping is free). For the Gap, check online if any stores near you have a maternity section. Again, not a huge selection in the store, but you can figure out sizes. The Gap online frequently has sales and promotions for extra % off.
I just purchased a pair of Noppies jeggings and I love them....you can't tell they are a) jeggings or b)pregnancy related clothing. They are based in the NL but it looks like Noppies are sold in the States and they are on sale for 30E.

I have shorts from Motherhood that I like. I have work pants from gap that I love (Demi panel perfect boot pants). The gap pants were not super cheap but they are machine washable so I just bought two and wash a lot. I have Old navy jeans that don't look maternity but I feel like I'm always pulling them up. I also have old navy shorts that I like. So far I have done almost all shopping online. If you read the reviews it is not too hard to figure out the correct size. The only store I actually went in to try on clothes was Motherhood.
We went shopping last weekend (? I think? maybe the weekend before) and I ended up in tears, too. Our Kohl's, JC Penney's, Ross and TJ Maxx all have maternity "departments" consisting of about 2 racks of clothes. Grrrrr.
I had a meltdown yesterday, too. We were having family pics yesterday, and I had nothing cute to wear. I have some summery stuff from my pg with DD, but I was super pregnant when I bought them and didn't really care anymore at that point what I looked like! I had been managing to wear regular clothes up until recently (with a Bella Band), but that wasn't working any longer.
I did order a cute dress from Zulilly, but it is from sweet pea maternity. https://www.sweetpeamaternity.com/default.aspx They have a pretty nice selection of dresses if you look on their website. I am considering buying another one (found that they run a little small - in Motherhood things, I was a small for dresses, shirts, and a medium for pants - my dress is a medium and it fits perfectly)! I also went to Kohls, and bought a pair of shorts, a skirt, cropped jeans (I rolled them up to make capris, will unroll them in the fall and wear with boots), and two shirts. I had also bought a shirt at Target not long ago.
Thanks so much for the suggestions! I'll try Zulily online. I'm also looking at Target and Old Navy online. I wasn't too impressed with Motherhood, but I may have to take a look again. I may look at Destination Maternity to see if there are any better prices there.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who has meltdowns with stuff!
