Gasoline exposure

Pumping my gas this afternoon, the pump was apparently broken when it didn't turn off. Some of it spilled on my clothes and I didn't get to change for another 30 minutes until I got home. I chaned clothes and opened the windows of the house to air out the fumes, but this evening when I had to run to the grocery store the fumes were still pretty strong in the car. I opened the windows while I drove to get rid of the fumes. I know exposure to gasoline isn't good while pregnant, but should I call my doctor on Monday?

Well, I did get a little nauseated and dizzy, but I'm not sure if it was because of the fumes or because my nausea strikes randomly and the smell was so strong.

You can call if you feel really concerned but I don't think your doctor will do anything about it. I'm sure it's no big deal.

Thanks! I guess I'm just a worrier. After TTC for so long I'm afraid of losing the baby, you know? I appreciate the input!

  • Unless you are huffing it, drinking it or on fire you should be fine. You might feel gross but ok. I would be more concerned if you had somehow gotten into your eyes or mouth.
