Everyone is absolutely flabbergasted when we tell them of our agreement.
I took care of my younger sisters a lot. The twins had long hair that I hated taking care of. Midback length hair on 2 three year olds was enough to drive my 16yr old self batty.
When we found out DD was a girl I told DH she would have a chin length cut until she could do it on her own. Not as drastic as the bowl cut I had but I was not maintaining long hair on a toddler ever again. DH agreed
Until it came time to actually cut it. He asked me if we could let it grow some more. I agreed but only if he was the one to take care of it.
It turns out DH has a lot of dedication to this. He buys her hair ribbons, about had a mother lovin' stroke when my grandmother put those little rubber band ones in because it was going to ruin her hair, and he even informed me a month or so ago she needed conditioner now so if I ever washed her hair to please make sure to use her new shampoo.
Also the other night he asked me if he could practice french braiding my hair because he thought learning it on me would be easier than on DD.
Re: S/O my DD's hair
I don't know what it was but around Christmas I told him I was going to make her an appointment for her hair to get it cut to her chin (all sides were chin length). And he got all "OMG are you serious? Please don't do that"
I was just like "
... What?"

As sweet as it is, I just did that ^
FWIW, my husband doesn't want me to cut the girls hair short either.
