Thrush ?

I took DD into the doc yesterday and I was sure she had an ear infection, because the last couple days she has been more fussy than usual, and she keeps pulling on her ears, and waking up in the middle of the night crying and ear tugging... (she has been STTN for almost 2 months, so that is rare for her to wake up at all...)

Instead of an ear infection, the doc said she had thrush... Anyone else's DC cry and pull on their ears a lot with that? That doesn't seem to be a symptom anywhere I've looked...

I've never heard of that either, pulling on the ears w/ thrush.  When DD had thrush she didn't show any symptoms besides the few white spots in her mouth but we did catch it early.

I've heard of fussiness at the breast but not the rest of the symptoms you listed.  Why would a baby w/ thrush wake up crying in the middle of the night, unless it was sevre thrush?  Hmmm...maybe get a second opinion or call your Dr. to clarify things.

Thats wierd.  I've read that pulling on the ears can also signal teething.

Thanks for the help ladies... I'm pretty sure it's way too early for teething for her (I hope! but it's definitely strange... I guess I'll just keep an eye on it, and after her thrush meds are done, hopefully she'll be back to normal!
