I am thrilled to have finally found Parrot Rum single serving slushies at my local grocery. I've been lusting after them since someone brought up Dailys recently.
As payment for doing some work for him, MH poured one into a fancy glass for me and topped it with a bit of pineapple rum we had in the fridge. He won't stop calling it my penis colada.
What are you drinking?
Re: I'm having a strong drink, how about you?
I'll see your water and add some cucumber slices. I'm so lame, but I have to pick my ILs up at the airport in an hour. When I get back, it's ON...Oh, wait it'll be close to midnight by then. When I get back, I'm taking a shot and crashing!
Whole milk, I need to shop.

Dang, I was hoping you were drinking arsenic.
Enjoy your single serving rum.
I am having blueberry juice with frozen berries. Out of a wineglass. We are doing sleep boot camp tonight, so I had to treat myself.
Boo for boot camp. I used to drink ginger ale out of wine glasses. It really does make you feel better.
That sounds delicious!
I hope sleep boot camp goes well.
TO be completely honest, boot camp kinda sucks. He needs it, though. After his growth spurt he kept on waking up four, five times a night for snacks - like an oz at a time - and I just cannot keep up with that. And neither can he. He was such a crank monster the last few days because of it. So far, he has woken up twice and I have managed to get him down both times with no snack. He cried for under ten minutes each. That is not horrible, I know. But now I cannot sleep anymore and keep staring at the monitor. Also, DH, who is all for it during day time, kinda sucks at night. He is super willing to be helpful and go in and feed the baby, but CIO or just going in and comforting him without the bottle is not his forte. And that sucks.
Well, I had set my goal for the night for only one feeding, not to be before two. It looks like we are off to actually accomplishing that. Now if I could only sleep too, or at least read or something. I keep hearing phantom cries. It is as if I am losing my mind.
Hang tough, Nita! I know the phantom cries. And then you whip your head around to the monitor like a crazy person. I get them for days after we CIO. Mom guilt at its finest, I guess.
I am so glad to hear I am not the only one to hear the phantom cries!!!! Honestly, I was thinking I was losing it and people would tell me I need to get over it.
Another twenty minutes and my goal is reached (and if he sleeps longer, that would be great too, but I cannot expect the world in the first night....).
The phantom cries and legit. One part of our brain transmits the memory of the sound to the part that controls hearing, so we are literally hearing cries. I learned that in reference to snatches of music when I was studying for my masters.
ED: That sounded really pompous! I'm on my second strong drink.
Whenever DH gives me a hard time about not joining him for a glass of wine with a nice romantic meal (I don't like wine
), I put juice in a wine glass so he doesn't feel like he's drinking alone. A friend of his used to drink apple juice in a beer glass so that he could look like he liked beer. Now he actually drinks beer.
