I know a Marquette. But how about using a beautiful feminine name for a first name and Mark as the middle name? I think it would sound really nice and have a lot of meaning without having to change the name.
My bro and sis in law named their dd Sean after my bil who passed away. They played around with Shauna but went with Sean. She is a unique kid and it fits her. If you feel comfortable then go with it.
Maybe Markie as a middle name? What was your FILs middle name? Could that be used?
His middle name was Thomas. No real help there either, I guess.
Hm, I guess not.
I agree with the PP who said just to use Mark as a middle name. Middle names are rarely used and your daughter would have a great story to tell about how she got hers. I'm one of 4 kids and our middle names are Faye, Marjorie, Hubert, and Gertrude. None of us has ever minded having odd middle names and we all have great stories about the people we're named after.
Thomasina (spelling?) might work as a girls MN its fairly old and uncommon. Mark on a girl makes me think of girls from high school that were named Markeisha, NMS but it could work if you like it. I also saw a Markita if that is any help.
Thomasin is the sweet young girl in Thomas Hardy's Return of the Native. A great name!

I got so scared reading the title of this post. My husband's name is Mark and I was like noooooo don't use that on a girl! But I think a middle name would be fine. No one really knows the middle name anyway.
