Gymboree leggings... anyone have this problem

DD is in size 3 in everything from there.  The tops are a bit big around at times, the pants are usually a little long on her... but the leggings I bought a month ago in size 3 are short on her.  I wash in cold and hang to dry too so they shouldn't be shrinking.  I'm going to have to buy a size up I guess, but I have never had this problem before - usually they are too long for her.

I just had her at the peds a month ago and yesterday.  She weighs the same and she hasn't gotten any taller so I know she hasn't outgrown them.

  • It may just be me, but I thought that most leggings are supposed to mid to lower calf length?

Are you talking about the leggings that go uder a dress or skirt?

Also, most are made of lyra and cotton so they are going to shrink some too.

They are fall and winter leggings and should hit the ankles according to the gymbo manager.  We wear them as pants and not just under dresses because they are made of velour or mid-weight cotton.

  • The lady at Gymboree told me that they would shrink 2% when I asked about size.  Not sure where that 2% came from.

We haven't had a problem, but DD is a size 3/3T in tops and dresses at Gymbo and usually a 2T in bottoms.  The leggings in a 2T were almost too big in the waist for her.

  • Hmmm...maybe your DD has long legs.  My DD is really tall & can't wear much of anything in size 4 anymore (even though she just turned 4) but I don't really have that problem w/ her wearing size 4 leggings.  She just wears them under dresses & with socks (every single day) & I like that they hit just above the ankle...but maybe she doesn't have as long of legs as your DD porportionately.

Angela,  that is what we used to deal with when C was in that size.  I moved her over to the big girl 3's because they are supposed to not be as roomy in the booty because they are sized for panties and not diapers.  But the length thing is weird.  I compared her 2t leggings and size 3 leggings and the 3's are only a half an inch longer.  According to the size chart, the inseam length should be 1 1/4 inches longer than the 2t's.  Strange, very strange.
